Neuropsychology Assessment
The neuropsychology assessment process involves the integration of interviews, questionnaires, and structured tasks by a Psychologist who has undergone additional training in psychometrics, test administration, and cognitive neuroscience. The goal is to gain a comprehensive understanding of a person’s cognitive functioning and its relationship with their brain health. In addition to general psychological well-being, other areas assessed include orientation, learning and memory, language, visuoperception, social cognition and executive functioning.
Most commonly people are referred by medical doctors as part of the process of diagnosing a developmental or degenerative disorder, monitoring change in a person’s functioning over time, or to understand the impact of an acquired brain injury and use this to guide their rehabilitation.
